DAY 1 MANAIAKALANI
Today was Day 1 of Manaiakalani for me. I was a bit scared to be fair as I was worried everyone else would be streets ahead. Surprised myself - my confidence is definitely growing!!
I love the story of ManaiaKalani - interesting I had two beautiful tamariki in my class in 2020 - Manaia and Kalani - just love the names!! Anything which is going to help my learners is got to be good - teaching Year 9 students is challenging and being able to use more effectively digital platforms has to positive for all. Being in a school where all students have a chromebook - this is next steps for us to be more effective in our teaching and learning. By the end of this My Drive will be super well organised!!
Being more effective with things digital should spin off for life in general - as I get more confident and effective it should reduce the time I spend bumbling around trying to figure out how to do stuff.
Below is my attempt at create - this is an example of a Poster my Year 9's could use to present their Olympic study - this is a very much a first effort.
😅
Kia ora Julie. I'm glad you surprised yourself today. That's a pretty good little story that you had those two students with those names. You'r 100% right, a lot of the new ideas you come across in DFI have the potential to help you in your personal life as well as your professional life. Looking forward to next week already!
ReplyDeleteYou did absolutely great and I love your create docs! It definitely is a fun task and I know your students will enjoy doing the same. I definitely agree with My Drive being super organised after the session. I can't wait to see what you do with your Year 9's 😊
ReplyDeleteKia ora Julie,
ReplyDeleteI think it's so cool you surprised yourself with your confidence and ability to join in with the first DFI session, I feel the same! It's great we can all challenge ourselves and learn new things, just like our kids do!
Kia ora Julie,
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have landed on your feet when it comes to support from your digital bubble! Such lovely comments. Well done for getting through the first day. No doubt the fear was worse than the reality and it won't be long until you will be helping your colleagues to trouble shoot digital issues at WHS I am sure! Enjoy the rest of your journey. Nā, M.
